American Society for Public Administrators

Dear TN-ASPA members and colleagues,

Thanks to attendees of our January Lunchtime Lecture, we had a great discussion on current aspects of education policy and a chance to get to know each other.

Please note that our February Lunchtime Lecture, scheduled for this Thursday the 17th, is cancelled, but we are happy to announce the following upcoming Third Thursday dates and topics:
  • Thursday, February 17th - Cancelled
  • Thursday, March 17th - Featured Speaker:  Tom Turner, President & CEO of the Nashville Downtown Partnership. In the current era of complex interactions and relationships between sectors to accomplish mutual goals, this should be a great chance to learn about one such relationship here in our region.
  • Thursday, April 21 - Speaker TBA
  • NEW - Thursday, May 19th - Featured Speaker: Nick Lindeman, Economic & Systems Data Analyst for the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, will present the key results and implications of the latest Census data for Nashville.

Logistics - All lunchtime lectures are free and take place from noon to 1PM in Training Room 1 at the Avon Williams Campus of Tennessee State University, in downtown Nashville ( map).  Parking is available for all participants but is limited, and state employees are asked to park in the adjacent state lots; other attendees please email Peter Westerholm at  peter.westerholm@tn.gov for a parking pass or pick one up at the event.

Also stay tuned as we prepare for Public Service Week 2011 (first week of May)!

Enjoy the break from snow and ice -

Your TN-ASPA Executive Council
